Verify the R760 build behind the listing title

Dell's PowerEdge R760 service manual specifies DDR5 RDIMMs and explicitly states that DDR4 memory is not supported.

For an offer described as H755, 12LFF, ENT license or MS board, require an itemized configuration report. Ask the seller to explain each label and show the corresponding component or license evidence; do not treat the title as a complete bill of materials.

What to match before ordering

• Identity: Match chassis and service-tag photographs to the seller's configuration report.
• Controller and drive layout: Ask for the installed controller part number, backplane identity, cable routing and photographs of the drive bays. Verify the proposed combination against Dell documentation.
• Memory and processors: Record the installed processor and DIMM identifiers. Have the seller document the supported population for that build.
• Licenses and motherboard: Require the exact management-license entitlement and a definition of the seller's board terminology. Request the board part number and replacement history.
• Completeness: Itemize drives, carriers, rails, power supplies, risers, cables and any excluded hardware.

Acceptance evidence

Require a dated, service-tag-linked diagnostic report for the offered configuration. Agree on storage, memory, cooling, power and management-access checks before purchase.

Hold acceptance if the configuration report, physical labels and delivered hardware disagree. Put the agreed license handover, missing-item remedy and return terms in writing.
